Remodeling Your Jewellery: Why Should You & How?
Why Remodel Your Jewellery?
There are many reasons to remodel your jewellery, but two of the most meaningful are sentimental value and financial value.
A small, irregular diamond passed down through generations may not hold high monetary worth—but its emotional significance is priceless. Conversely, a large diamond from a past relationship may carry greater dollar value, but a very different kind of emotional weight.
At Bella K, we work with you respectfully, whatever story your jewellery holds.
Is My Jewellery Valuable?
We can assess your jewellery in our studio or arrange a secure courier if you're interstate or overseas. You can also check for hallmark stamps on your piece to determine the gold carat percentage.
Even if your gemstone isn’t a financially valuable stone, we can create a new piece that preserves its history and beauty—just as meaningful.
Heirloom Remodels
Heirloom pieces often carry deep emotional ties. Whether the original is worn beyond repair or simply doesn’t match your style, we can thoughtfully reimagine it as a new ring, pendant, or pair of earrings.
Our goal is to honour the original piece while creating something that feels completely your own.
What Happens to My Gold?
Gold used in jewellery is typically alloyed with other metals, and remelting can sometimes result in a rough or cracked finish. When you're ready to proceed, our experienced setter will carefully remove all stones. We'll then melt your gold and apply a metal credit to offset the cost of your new piece.
Pricing
Each Bella K custom piece is ethically made in Sydney, Australia. If you supply gold for recycling, its value will be deducted from your final quote.
Pricing varies depending on:
-
The complexity of the setting
-
Additional stones
-
Final gold weight or metal used
We’re happy to work within your budget to craft a stunning, deeply personal piece that honours the original—both in spirit and design.
